What is the Play About?


Flexible number of actors."Treadmills" is about 30 minutes long.

The people circle, grinding in a treadmill. It is transformed into a maypole. The people are happy. Taxes are raised. The people become poor again. The police are increased to keep law and order. Taxes are raised. The armed forces are increased to keep law and order. Taxes are raised. The Government can't afford to pay wages. Taxes are raised. And so the cycle continues. The play ends as it begins.
