Marie Antoinette was sitting at a table scoffing a plate of strawberries. A male, splendidly dressed, approached and said, “Ma’am, the pheasants have no bread”. Antoinette responded by saying, “Let them eat cake,” and handed the head poultry-keeper a cake dish piled with chocolate cake. |
