Dear Mum & Dad,

I received the ‘Myadec’ tablets, & also the Parades. Thank you very much. I feel better already! Last week* (*before I received the tablets!) I had the flu’ again, but am over it now.

On September 10th, 11th & 12th I am going to Silverstream to attend a Seminar on Preaching the Word. Nisi ‘Ota’ota and myself are going. I don’t know of any of the arrangements yet, so don’t know if I can get home yet! I will be trying my hardest to anyway! I will let you know.

The Philosophers played the Theologians last Friday in Tagg. I played Centre for the Theologians. The Philosophers won 3-0, with a penalty in the last minute. It was raining & the ground was very muddy.

John Owens & Tony O’Connor are down at Massey this week doing their vacation course which I did during the May holidays.

We’re still getting a lot of rain. Yesterday the bottom paddocks were covered with water for the 5th or 6th time this year. Today, it’s cloudless. I hope it stays fine, for we’ve got a conge tomorrow.

Being the school holiday time, we’re getting a lot of visitors. Frs. Kevin Head & Rory Morrissey called in yesterday. Rory seems very tired after his 1st 2 terms of teaching at Pompallier College. Kev. Head’s at St. Pat’s Town this year. Fr. Paul Gifford – who was ordained in my 1st year – was also here yesterday. He went to Rome with Fr. Cody & has just finished there. He took 3 years to get 2 diplomas in Scripture. Normally it takes 4 years to get one diploma. He’s now on his way to Oxford to get another degree. He will eventually end up on the staff here.

Well, I can’t think of any more news, so will go & post this.

Love from
Bruce
