48 Aurora Tce., Wellington 1. Tues. 27th Feb. ‘73. Dear Mum & Dad, Thank you for sending the certificates which I received the other day. I started lectures yesterday. I only had the one lecture – from 12-1 p.m. It went very well. It is Music Analysis. There are about 60 in the group. It is actually only a 1/3 of a Unit, & you don’t have exams in it. It is judged on your year’s work. Yesterday we started with Plain Chant. My lectures are as follows:- Mon: Music analysis – 12-1 P.M. Tues: Music Education – 11-12 p.m. English II – 12-1 p.m. Wed: Music education – 9-11 a.m. Thurs: Eng. II – 12-1 p.m. Fri: Music History – 11-1 p.m. English II – 12-1 p.m. Notice how 2 of my lectures clash in tie on the Friday. However, the authorities said that it would be alright. Notice too, how much of my lectures are at lunch time. I almost feel like getting a job down town & popping up to Varsity at the lunch break! There is an hour’s English tutorial added to the list that hasn’t been arranged yet, but we will arrange the time today. And much of the other time I suppose will be spent in studying. Mother Theresa of Calcutta is in Wellington at the moment. She will be given a public reception at the Town Hall at 12.30. A lot of people from here are going, but I’ve got a lecture on at that time. However, tonight there’s a reception on for religious & social workers for her at 7.30 – so I might go to that. I spent some of my time last week clearing a few yards of Shell Gulley which runs under the bridge on our property. It gets a little bit of sun & might be alright for a Vegie Garden. Well, I must go now. We’ve got Mass at ½ past 7 this morning & it’s 25 past now. Love from Bruce P.S. Mr. Tom Smith & Mrs. Smith & Mary called in to see nephew Brendan & some Tongans staying here, so he took the tin of honey to Waikanae to give Mrs. Sinclair, which I mentioned in my last letter. |
