Dear Mum & Dad,

How did the “Music Hall” go?

I’m still not sure about holiday dates, but about the 21st or 22nd of Dec. (& the following 3 weeks). Actually, they passed around a list, & we signed up the dates we wanted to go home - & I’ve forgotten the dates that I signed up for.

Did you get my letter about the Broadcast Mass. It (the Mass) was alright – except the singing got a bit jumbled & flat at times. I’m sorry I couldn’t warn you earlier, but I was only asked on Friday to READ THE EPISTLE!!! (on the air). It wasn’t strictly an Epistle – it was the first of the 3 readings in the New Mass – this one from the Old Testament. I’ll include the copy I read from. I think I read alright – the only trouble is, you can’t hear yourself in a direct broadcast. You didn’t by any odd chance happen to be listening to the Old Testament Reading did you?!

Wish Stanley a Happy Birthday.

There is no need to send the duets up Mum, because I found a similar copy up here recently in a cupboard if music – that’s the book with the “Grande Valse Brilliante” in it.

What you could send up though is that green covered bird book*, if you still have it. It’s not that I want to use it (but the binding was going on it, & I thought if you sent it up I could rebind it. Shhhhh!)

Well, I’d better sign off now.

Love from
Bruce

*It’s got coloured pictures in it.

P.S. Next Sunday (25th) is a Visiting Day (1.15-5 p.m.)
