Dear Mum & Dad,

I hope you got home all right, & didn’t exceed 60 m.p.h. on the Takapau Straights!

Today the Napier Catholic Women’s League visited us. They come for afternoon tea, & then we have Benediction at 4.00 p.m.

The weather has been very warm & fine, & my cold has now gone.

Minor Revision starts next week (this Monday). This means that we have classes only in Philosophy & Scripture for a week, & then Major Revision starts. In Major Revision (which lasts a month) we don’t have any classes, but just revise the term’s work.

Did I tell you last Sunday, that Mr. Papesch died? He was the blind man who used to teach us singing every year in August.

All this week the Brothers have been making their Retreat. The Brothers from “Highden” & “Futuna” were also here.

I was just thinking (in preparation for Xmas holidays!) what time is daily Mass, because I have to go to Mass everyday if possible! I hope it’s not too early or too late in the day.

Last night I gave a talk to the Mission Society, on “Oceania”. The Mission Society is the society we have up here which makes money for the missions by selling stamps, etc. The talk went fairly well.

Well, I can’t think of any more news.

Love from
Bruce

P.S. Have just heard that Kev. Eastwick died yesterday (Saturday).
