375. Celestial abhorrence
© Bruce Goodman 20 October 2014

Daisy was eight when she announced to her parent that she had no intention whatsoever, ever ever ever, of going to heaven.

“Even if they throw me in through the gates,” said Daisy, “I’m walking out.”

Her mother couldn’t work out the reason for this celestial abhorrence.

“But it’s beautiful in heaven,” said her mother. “Don’t you want to be with God? And the angels? In a beautiful city?”

“No!” declared Daisy defiantly. “I do not want to go to heaven.”

“Why not?” said her mother.

“Jennifer at school said that in heaven they don’t wear clothes.”
