Goodness gracious, I was first married when I was eighteen and now I’m sixty-four. That first marriage lasted only a few months. Her name I think was Mandy but it could’ve been Brandy. Something like that; it was a long time ago. Anyway today I thought I saw her. I think it might have been her. She was going down the street. She didn’t notice me. I don’t know what she was doing in this town because she lived miles away back then. I could be wrong. People change over time; some more than others. As far as I remember that first marriage ended when she discovered I was dating her best friend. So it was a good thing it ended because otherwise I’d be lumbered for life with someone who was nosey and who I didn’t like much. My marriage to her friend didn’t last long either. Some people are so fickle. Today when I first saw Candy – yeah that was it – not Mandy or Brandy, but Candy. At any rate she was being pushed in a wheel chair. It looked like she couldn’t walk. I always wondered what happened to her after I shoved her down the stairs. Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
