Don’t you just hate it when some all-powerful figure enters a story at the end and everyone is saved, even though the all-powerful figure never got as much as a mention anywhere else in the story? The ending has nothing to do with the story. That will never be the case here. Moira and McKenzie were sisters and they were on a cruise ship when it sank and everyone was drowned except for Moira and McKenzie. Fortunately the ship sank near an isolated, uninhabited island. Moira and McKenzie made it to the shore only to discover the island was full of fruit trees. For months they survived on nothing but fruit, but there was so much variety that they never grew tired of eating it. As winter approached the fruit trees produced less and less until by midwinter there wasn’t any fruit to be found. Moira and McKenzie knew they were destined to die of starvation. The only things they could eat were horrible insects, but they weren’t sure if they were poisonous or not. Moira volunteered to try an insect first. It tasted horrible, and was clearly poisonous because that night she died. McKenzie was now alone. There was no hope. She would end it all. There was no chance of ever being saved. She too devoured a poisonous insect and died that night. The next morning a rescue ship arrived, being manned by two very handsome princes. When they saw Moira and McKenzie lying there dead, there was nothing could be done. They left and returned to their kingdom and went to the horse races. The main race was won by Shandy Shade – the favourite. The two princes got very rich at the races and eventually both got married and lived happily ever after.
