Well really! Someone suggested that this blog should do a week of Science Fiction. Fiction! Goodness me! Since when has this blog dealt with fiction? I would prefer to call it a week of Transplanetery Science. There’s nothing make believe about the stories this coming week. When my daughter announced she was going to marry Larry, my wife in particular was upset. The reason is quite simple: Larry is from Zegovis and my wife originates from Ustronoe. These two planets have never got on, even though they are separated from each other only by a few light years. I suggested this marriage would be a wonderful example to the entire galaxy if a Zegovian married a Ustronian. My wife would have none of it. She was enraged and that was it. It goes to show that generation after generation of hatred becomes insurmountable. Then my daughter announced she was expecting. What a mess. I tried to mediate between my daughter and her mother but to no effect. That was when a miracle happened. My daughter gave birth. It was my wife’s first grandchild. It was all baby talk and goo-gar and kitschy-coo. Her first grandchild! What a change of attitude! Oh what a darling sweet little baby! I must admit that a cross between a cognizant tree and an intelligent tortoise is rather cute. Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
