This is a continuation of Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, Part 5, posted on 11 December 2024.

When Edwina entered the room with the Christmas tree the Santa figurine was at the top of the tree bossing everyone around.

“You there, you useless bauble. Shine! Throw a bit of beauty around even though you’re ugly as donkey fodder.”

With that, the Santa replica grabbed a candy cane and smashed the bauble to smithereens. Pieces of bauble were scattered on the floor under the Christmas tree. Edwina gathered the pieces up.

“Don’t worry,” she said, “We’ll glue you back together.”

“Whose that?” asked the Santa imposter. “Is that Edwina the Christmas Fairy back again? Well this time you won’t be taking the prime spot at the top.” He grabbed the candy cane again and was about to strike another bauble when Edwina streaked through the air and grabbed the end of the candy cane.

“You can’t do that,” she cried. “Show a bit of respect. Peace on Earth. Goodwill to all is the theme of the season.”

“Blah blah blah,” said the Santa imposter. “Blah blah blah.” He slipped on some pine needles and toppled a few branches down, landing in a fork of the tree.

“Help me!” he called. “Help me! Don’t go taking my place at the top, you useless fairy. Help me!”

But no one would help him. He was stuck in the fork of the tree. He was jammed tight.

“I don’t want to be at the top of the tree anymore,” said Edwina. “I have better things to do.” She held out a helping hand to Santa.
