This is a continuation (and conclusion) of Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, Part 6. Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, held out a hand to help the Santa replica, for he was stuck in the fork of the Christmas tree; jammed tight. “Don’t come near me, you useless fairy,” shouted the Santa imposter. “I don’t need your help. What will people think? They will sneer that Santa Claus was helped by a fairy. A fairy! Goodness me. I’ve got to think of my reputation.” Just then the cell phone of the Santa imposter rang. It was out of reach at the top of the tree. “Don’t just stand there,” shouted the Santa imposter. “Answer it!” “Hello! Hello!” said Edwina. “True? Are you really the real Santa phoning from the North Pole? I can’t believe it. I’m talking to the real Santa Claus. You what? You want the Santa imposter at the top of the tree to help you on Christmas night to deliver the presents? Well he can’t. He slipped and is stuck in the fork of the Christmas tree and refuses to get out.” “You what?” continued Edwina on the phone. “You want me to help deliver all the gifts on Christmas night instead of the Santa imposter? Sure I will. And could we pick up the two gifts I bought for the children but had to leave on the side of the road?” So that is how Edwina spread the Christmas message. Every household in the whole wide world got a handwritten card: Oh – I almost forgot. Edwina managed to glue together the smashed bauble. And those who see the tree might well wonder how come the Santa imposter is permanently glued by his pants to the fork in the branch. Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
