3068. Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, Part 5 © Bruce Goodman 11 December 2024 |
This is a continuation of Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, Part 4, posted on 10 December 2024. Edwina awoke. She was still very wet and lost. “Well I can’t sit here on the roadside moping like a wet mop if I am to find my way home,” she thought. “But I’m afraid the gifts I bought for the children will have to stay here. They’re far too heavy. First things first. I shall have to knock on a door and find out where I am.” Knock! Knock! Knock! “Oh my goodness me!” shouted Mrs. Babich. “Children! Children! The Christmas Fairy is at our door! You poor thing, you are all wet. Here – dry yourself. Would you like a cup of tea?” Edwina stayed quite a while in Mrs. Babich’s house, warming and drying herself. The children were so excited. “Have a merry Christmas,” said Mrs. Babich as Edwina left. “Yes! Happy Christmas!” said Edwina. “Peace on Earth. Good will to all.” With that Edwina departed. But she was still lost. Edwina visited another house; and another; and another. “Peace on Earth. Good will to all,” she would say to each. But no one could tell where she lived. In the end she had visited every house except one. “Peace on Earth. Good will to all.” And there it was at the end of the street: her home! She had announced the Christmas message to every house on the street. As she entered her own home she knew her place was no longer meant to be at the top of the tree. She had another job to do. She would announce “Peace on Earth. Good will to all” to every household in town. Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
