This is a continuation of Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, Part 3, posted on 9 December 2024.

There were two children in the house that Edwina, the Christmas Fairy, had to buy for. There was Lester Brinkworth who was 9, and his sister, Fleur, who was 7. Of course being a fairy Edwina couldn’t buy anything too heavy. As it was she would have to walk home and not fly. The weight of most gifts would be too much.

She purchased a small chemistry set for Lester because he was interested in such things; and she bought an artificial flower and pot that had little drawers where Fleur could hide her jewellery. Edwina set off home, walking.

It was very slow going because the weight was too much. She sat down to rest and it started to rain. Her dress was quickly saturated, her shoes were drenched, and her wings got wet and went all floppy. It was then that Edwina realized she was lost and she started to cry.

Morning came and Edwina was still crying on the side of the road. Meanwhile, Mrs. Nettie Brinkworth had discovered that Edwina was missing. “Who has taken the Christmas Tree Fairy?” she demanded. No one knew.

Santa Claus was hastily reinstalled at the top of the tree.
