Nigel thought that since he was getting on in years, now might be the time to sort out a few things. Such as his bookcases. Over the years he had bought a book here and there, and when finished with it he would simply plop the tome in a bookshelf in no particular order. He wondered if the local library would be interested in any of the books. In the end he couldn’t be bothered taking some books here and some books there, so he stacked them all in boxes and took them to the second-hand bookshop. They could have them free of charge. Books were one less thing his niece would have to worry about when she came to pack up after he had gone. Unfortunately Nigel lived for another twenty-two years.
