Marcia always had a honey sandwich for lunch. While eating it she would empty the dishwasher of things from the previous evening. Honey spreads like the plague. The handle to the dishwasher was sticky. The handle to the pantry was sticky. The plates and cutlery were sticky. The bread knife was sticky.

This daily stickiness infuriated Gerald, her husband. “Can’t you have something else for lunch? This honey spreads everywhere. You’ve only got to look at it for things to get sticky.” But Marcia was persistent.

Gerald had had enough. He came up with the perfect solution. He poisoned the honey. After that Marcia had only the one lunch before croaking. But honey spreads like the plague. It sticks to everything. The poison was certainly effective – as Gerald found out.
