 Mt. St. Marys, Greenmeadows. Sun. 15th Nov. ‘70 Dear Mum & Dad, Well, the weather’s being very hot & fine these last few days – except for last Thursday when we had a Conge, when it rained & blew a gale! Next Thursday we have a Scripture exam, & on Monday (tomorrow week) we have Philosophy Written Exam. On Wednesday after that we have our Philosophy Oral exams (10 minute ones). This morning some C.C.D. pupils from Napier & Taradale came for Mass. The Theologians take local C.C.D. classes. Next year I’ll probably be taking one. Wish Sonia & Penny a “Happy Birthday” for me, & tell them I am looking forward to seeing them at Christmas. Yesterday, Fr. Mannix gave us a conference on what to do & what not to do on our holidays home. So the time is getting very close. (It’s all I can think about actually!!) Do you know Fr. Hickey? I don’t know when he will be taking over – next year some time. Leila actually said 6 months ago:- “Why don’t they put Fr. Hickey in?”! (He used to be at Hastings Parish). News is running a bit short at this time of year. Fr. Crombie S.M. from St. John’s Hastings will be preaching our 2 days of Recollection at the end of the year. I think I mentioned to you before; the time for our weeks retreat has been changed from the end of the year, to sometime at the beginning of next year. Well, I can think of any more news.
