 “Highden”, Sat. 8th Nov. ’69. Dear Mum & Dad, I hope you had a very enjoyable birthday. This will only be a very short letter because tomorrow is a Retreat Sunday, & I have just noticed that letter writing is tonight (Sat.) & haven’t much time left. Rob. Devlin & I have been topping some poplar trees the last two days because they’re under the power lines. I hope Francie’s garden is coming along well. I have 5 pumpkins up! It has been very fine all week, and the grass is beginning to look a bit dry already in patches. Well, I had better go. Sorry the letter has to be so short. Love from Bruce |
