“Highden”, Tues. 21st Oct. 1969. Dear Mum & Dad, This is just a short note… I hope it reaches you by Saturday. You mentioned in your letter twice, “See you on Sunday”. I might have told you wrong, or it might have just been a slip of the pen on your part – but just in case, the Visiting Day is on MONDAY 27th (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.)!! I thought I’d drop this note just in case (one gets all worried about things like this in Novitiate because most of the time one’s on edge). If you did come on Sunday – there would have been a Sung Mass in the morning, & after that a Xt. The King Procession in Feilding, so that wouldn’t amount to much of a visiting day. I don’t know how I’ll get this posted yet. As you have probably guessed, I had trouble finding enough stamps!! It is very windy here at the moment – I hope that it stops by Monday. Last year they had 6” of rain in Oct. So far this year they have had ½”. Bro. Anthony is back from Chch. where he went to his mother’s funeral. See you on Monday (I hope?!) I will presume that you are coming on Monday unless you ring up or something! Well I had better start signing off before I make more of a mountain out of a molehill that I originally intended.
