Greenmeadows.
Sun. 9th June ’68.

Dear Mum & Dad,

I enclose the “Withdrawal” slip from the Savings Bank.

Peter Gordon is getting ordained on July 7th in Christchurch. A telegram or anything else should be sent to

Fr. Peter Gordon S.M.
c/- St Mary’s Catholic Presbytery,
Christchurch.

I do not think I need any winter underpants.

I don’t know if I told you the date of our holidays but they are from Sunday 30th June to Sunday July 22nd. I will now be going out to Waimarama in the second half, so if you could possibly come up in the first half it would be best. That would be in between Monday 1st July until the 10th of July. (If possible, however, come before the 10th because that is the day we will be “moving” to Waimarama). Besides the day out allowed, parents are allowed to visit for any two other days (I think that these are mainly used by parents who live down in the Sth. Island though).

We have our first exam tomorrow.

I don’t know whether I told you or not, but Bro. Andrew is starting a turkey farm here now – as well as the chooks. They are white ones like the ones near Sue’s at P’ram. He has got 5 hens and one gobbler.

Last Monday we had a Conge.

I also enclose the extra photo of the Wedding Cake.

Well, I think that that is all the news.

Love from
Bruce

P.S. How is Aunty Ethel these days?

My great aunt, Ethel Scrimshaw
