Wendy’s History teacher was Mr Patterson. He was a good teacher. He set the class an assignment; each student was to investigate a current topic and write it up as if it was in the past.
Wendy chose an event from a city about six hours drive away. There was a serial killer lurking there. He killed a young woman almost every weekend. No one had a clue as to the killer’s identity.
Mr Patterson was excited about Wendy's assignment. He said he would discuss it with her on Monday. It was Friday, and he was going away for the weekend.
