© Bruce Goodman 14 October 2013

Jamie was straining his eyes. It was hard to see the computer screen with the sun streaming in the window. Not that it mattered. He was having a fruitless afternoon, and it was only a computer game after all.

A car pulled up outside. Jamie heard nothing. There was a knock on the door. Jamie heard nothing. The car drove away. Jamie heard nothing.

It was a shame, because he’d missed the chance of a life time.
