Then around about Valentines it was Felicity. Whenever Elvis was heard she started singing Wooden Heart, and then accused me of having borer in my wooden heart. That was her way of dumping me. But it didn’t stop those idiots broadcasting Elvis songs on the radio did it?
During Spring Break I was into listening to the Beach Boys and it was at the beach during Spring Break that Carmen dumped me. So you see, Christmas songs, Elvis, and the Beach Boys are all out for me. Then the crunch came when Natalie dumped me because of my overall taste in music, and now I can’t listen to anything. Apparently everything I listened to sucked. She said she’d be embarrassed even if it was her grandmother listening to it.
All this was before I met Connie. She had perfect taste in music. She loved everything I listened to. I listened mainly to Stevie Wonder those days. And Connie was the sunshine of my life. The last thing she told me to do was to play Stevie Wonder’s Sad Boy. So I did.
