The group of friends, once a sherry or wine had been consumed, always had a friendly squabble over “who was the one who thought most outside the box that month”. Carmen, Carmel, and Carol were extremely loud in their argumentations. Carmen reckoned the monthly award for thinking most outside the box should go to Carol. She had entered the village flower arranging competition by using only dead, not dried, flowers. Carmel reckoned the award should go to Carmen for taking her little lapdog, Scruff, with her to church. Carol reckoned the award should go to Carmel for telling the annoying phone salesman that she was in a wheelchair and didn’t need any exercise clothing.
