3265. Truth is stranger than fiction

It’s funny how things happen. Vernon was running a little late for a doctor’s appointment; not exactly late but enough to have to rush a little. That is why he forgot to close the living room window before leaving home. It wasn’t until he started his car that he remembered and had to get out and close the window.

That’s when Fate stepped in. It he hadn’t taken the time to get out of the car and close the window then he would have had a car accident on the way to the doctor’s. He would have had an argument with the person that ran into his car. He would’ve pulled out his gun and shot the person dead. He would have been murderously angry.

The police would have arrested him. He would have been taken to court and given a life sentence. His wife would file for a divorce and his twin daughters would vow never to see him again. In short, he would live a miserable life and die alone.

But none of that happened. It’s amazing what a difference a minute or two can make. Thank goodness he avoided all that simply by getting out of his car and shutting the living room window.

As he headed out his gate he was hit by a passing truck and killed.
