Jolene was tired of preparing similar food for her family at dinner day after day. She wasn’t a bad cook, but with a busy life and a large family she would often fall back on the regular menus. But one sunny day Jolene decided to get creative! She surfed the internet for something reasonably simple yet creative. Perhaps a dish from a foreign country, provided of course she could easily lay her hands on the ingredients. No good hoping to cook Brazilian Parrot with lashings of Fijian raw sugar cane. In the end she settled on a dish from South Africa. Ground meat and sausage meat were the base. At least the family would be eating ingredients they could recognize. What made this recipe different were the herbs and spices. Some of the spices were a little bit exotic but Jolene managed to find them in a specialist shop. Well! The fun she had! The recipe was intricate and time consuming, but it was creative and interesting. Jolene enjoyed every minute of the preparation and cooking. When dinner time came she proudly put it on the table. It was disgusting. Yuck! Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
