Sabine was aged twenty-six and had never visited a haunted house at the fair ground. There was a fair coming to town and Sabine was determined to visit the haunted house. None of her friends were the slightest bit interested so she went alone. She paid at the door and went in. The room was fairly dark but there wasn’t anything to see. Then she saw a doorway leading down a dark passageway. Presumably she was meant to go down there. The corridor seemed to go on and on and there was nothing to see. It was too dark anyway. Sabine had to outstretch her arms to feel both corridor walls to know where she was going. After five minutes she thought it was stupid and turned to go back. There was a solid wall behind her. There was no going back. She continued to walk forward, taking great care not to stumble. After approximately ten minutes she found herself back in the original room. There was only one door out and that was the dark door down the corridor. Perhaps she had missed the exit. She once again headed down the passageway. She did this three times. There were no ghosts, no murderous shrieks, no frights. On her third return to the original room Sabine saw the exit door. As she passed the ticket office the man asked, “Did you enjoy it Miss?” “I hated every bit of it,” said Sabine. “I have never been so terrified in all my life.” “Money well spent then,” said the man.
