The problem was that Caroline had fallen for Digby, and yet she had dated Simon for over four years. Everyone presumed that Caroline and Simon were destined for eternal matrimonial bliss. And then Digby came along. Caroline wanted to dump Simon but she didn’t want to hurt his feelings. Digby said “Just do it, and if you won’t, I will.” Poor Caroline – she was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. She made a decision: rather than end her relationship with Simon and destroy his passionate soul, she would poison him. At least he would die happy and she and Digby would be free. It took a lot of research on Caroline’s part to come up with the best poison. She created it in her cellar. In fact she had overestimated and had several bottles of the stuff. She needed only an eye-dropper full to do the dastardly deed. She would poison Simon tomorrow. Things rarely turn out as planned. The next morning Simon was found dead in his bed already. Police said he had been poisoned. Caroline knew she hadn’t done a thing. It was very strange. She flushed the poison down the toilet. She was innocent. Things were very sad for a while but Caroline seems to have got over Simon’s death. She’s going out with a man called Digby. They seem made for each other. Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
