It’s week forty-one since the start of the year, which means there’s been forty Fridays so far, which means there’s been forty gruesome murders by the man known as the Haughty Slaughterer. He always strikes in a dark alley on a Friday. These days people are too scared to go out on a Friday, although there’s always some foolish people who think it’ll never happen to them. The Haughty Slaughterer always strangles his victims and then ties a red ribbon around their wrists. It’s known as the Mark of the Haughty Slaughterer. A lot of people think that his victims are women, but counting them up, of the forty victims so far this year eighteen have been males.
