3025. Dog blog

Jacinta’s blog had a huge following. Followers ran into tens of thousands, which probably isn’t much if you’re a film star but it was more than satisfactory for thirteen year old Jacinta.

The reality was that it wasn’t really Jacinta’s blog, it was the blog of her little dog called Lavender. Every day Lavender would go for a walk and every walk was an adventure. When she got back from her walk Lavender would type up her adventure to the adulation of thousands of readers. So popular was Lavender’s blog that a nearby pet shop gave Jacinta a heap of little puppy toys for Lavender to play with. A huge pet food company wanted Jacinta to feed Lavender their product, provided of course it was advertised, but Lavender turned the offer down.

Oh dear me! When Lavender had a little puppy sniffle, suggested cures poured into Lavender’s email. She couldn’t text very well because her paws were too big for a phone, but she could cope with a larger keyboard.

Next a prestigious publishing company wanted to publish Lavender’s daily adventures in book form. Of course Lavender consented. Make no mistake, said the publisher, this is going to be a best seller.

Thirteen year old Jacinta had only one regret: her parents wouldn’t let her have a puppy. That’s why she had to make one up.
