It was an ordinary afternoon. Letitia was feeling peckish. A banana was just what the doctor ordered. She had purchased a bunch last time she went shopping. She normally had one at breakfast time, but having a second one now would bring no harm. Letitia peeled the banana skin back. There was a face on the flesh. Letitia got a heck of a fright. The banana squealed: “Please don’t eat me! Please! Please!” “Don’t be silly,” said Letitia. “If you don’t get eaten you’ll get soft and rotten. “Please! Please!” pleaded the banana. Letitia bit the banana’s head off and savagely chewed it. She devoured the whole banana. “Stupid banana,” thought Letitia. The ordinary afternoon returned again to being an ordinary afternoon.
