Kaye always listened to loud popular music on headphones when she vacuumed the house. Vacuuming was a task she despised. The music was more to block out the sound of the vacuum cleaner than an opportunity to appreciate a bit of music. There was a knock at the door. Kaye didn’t hear. She didn’t answer the door.
