An exotic fruit tree that grew in the depths of the Amazon Jungle got past custom officials with much fanfare and drum beating. Politicians had spear-headed the introduction of such a tree – otherwise it would have taken years to get permission to import. The tree was duly planted and began to flourish. The fruit apparently was “out of this world”. Of course, the politicians responsible were the first in line to bite into what was now referred to as “the forbidden fruit”. But there was something about eating this exotic fruit that no one knew about until it was too late. Naturally the tree was immediately cut down and banned. All who eat this fruit think they have grown horns on either side of their forehead. That accounts for why today so many politicians strut around looking remarkably stupid.
