Sixteen year old Morgan wanted to bring her boyfriend, Sammy, to Thanksgiving dinner. “His family doesn’t celebrate it because they think it’s stupid,” said Morgan. “I want him to see how lovely a family Thanksgiving can be.”
It was a disaster. From the second he was in the house he complained about “the stink of cooking”. When the meal started he “didn’t eat that shit”. After four beers he was in a swearing mood. In the end he got up and walked out, declaring that he would have nothing more to do with a stuck-up group of weasels.
Morgan was upset. Her mother consoled her. “Morgan dear, one day you’ll look back and realize you have much to be thankful for.”
