Mujibur Ahmed worked in a cane field in a country area of Bangladesh. He went missing. His wife and children were naturally distressed. It was most untypical of Mujibur not to come home. Where is he? What could have happened? It was late afternoon when his wife discovered a Reticulated Python lying on the back veranda bloated with obviously a man’s body inside. The family on one side had a pet python. This was probably it, although wild pythons were not uncommon. Mujibur’s wife was not a frail woman by any means. She grabbed a machete and cut off the python’s head. It was then that the neighbour turned up. Wrapped around him was their pet python. Mujibur Ahmed was with him. “Sorry I’m late,” said Mujibur. “We’ve been looking for the goat.” Back to Index Next Story Previous Story |
