Numerous thoughts passed through Lloyd’s mind as he jumped out of a plane on his first parachute jump. What if the chute doesn’t open? What if I hit a power line? He was both thrilled and fearful. On a first jump wasn’t the parachute meant to open itself as you left the plane? Well it hadn’t opened so he pulled the string as instructed. Oh my goodness! He pulled the string again. Still nothing happened. Lloyd had the presence of mind to stay calm. Maybe if he pulled the string slowly. It had no effect. He thought if he tugged too hard the string might break.
