So many items of luggage at an airport look the same. Nancy’s was fairly distinctive. She identified her bag from the conveyor belt immediately and rushed off to nab a taxi before a long line formed at the taxi stand. Imagine her surprise when she opened her luggage at home and discovered that inside was a live snake. It was one of those venomous grass snakes native to the island where Nancy had just spent a fabulous two weeks relaxing. She immediately phoned to report a snake slithering out of her luggage onto the bed; the Wildlife Animal Control or something. The lady on 911 put Nancy through to the animal people so Nancy didn’t have a clue who she was talking to. She ran out of the bedroom, shut the door, and put a heavy wet towel down to block the gap under the door. One never knows if those snakes can squeeze under anything. It seemed like ages but the Wildlife Animal Control people eventually arrived. Nancy explained to them what happened. They searched the bedroom. They found nothing. Have a nice evening.
