Mt. St. Marys,
Greenmeadows.
Sun. 19th May ’68.

Dear Mum & Dad,

Well, I suppose the wedding is over. How did it go? What was the weather like?

We had a good week at Massey. We stayed at Highden, leaving about 8.30 a.m. every day. During the day we had 2 lectures & 2 tutorials. We had lunch there every day, & tea there on Monday & Tuesday – when we had lectures in the evening. On Wednesday night we went to Mr. & Mrs. McVerry’s for tea. (They have a son here who is getting ordained in June). I was asked if I was related to Goodman Motors, because they had a very good mechanic. Apparently Stewart Murray fixed their car up one day at Paorangi. We came back yesterday in the van. Kathryn Trask & Sister Juliana (?) from Paraparaumu were there at Massey.

The Napier Catholic Women’s League are coming out today to have afternoon tea. Apparently they come out about once a term.

Harvey O’Sullivan & Mrs O’Sullivan came to Mass this morning here & said “Hello”.

Frs. Donnelly & Moore, from S’Stream were at Massey.

I just received the “Wahine Disaster Paper”, and your letter in it. I think it better if you are going to send a paper not to put a letter in it because we are only given our newspapers (sent to us) on Conges (i.e. about once every three weeks). We get the daily Papers every day but magazines, etc. sent to us are kept. Thanks very much anyway – no one else got a “Wahine Edition”.

Well, I think that that is all the news.

Love from
Bruce

P.S. I suppose Mark missed out a little bit on his birthday because of the wedding!
Bruce
