What is the Play About?

This work is in two parts. The first half is the traditional story of Jason and the Argonauts and their voyage to obtain the golden fleece.

The second half mirrors the first, but is the story of the New Zealand and Australian soldiers in the First World War and their journey to and tragedy at Gallipoli.

Much of the geography is the same in both events, and the ancient Greek story throws a symbolic light on the ANZAC tradition. Some of the action centres on the women who "stayed at home".

This piece has not as yet been performed. It requires a fairly large troupe of dancers and substantial resources. There is no dialogue for individuals, but it has a Greek Chorus.
