Although relatively unknown Chadwick’s last painting sold for thousands. His acclaim was clearly on the rise. But all had come to a halt. The newspaper even printed the scene of the crime with the body removed but the evidence of pools of blood splodged all over the floor.
No one seemed to have a clue what had happened – not even the detective working on the case. Clearly the artist had been murdered and the painting stolen because of the painting’s inherent value.
Chadwick ‘s funeral was a private affair. The painting was recovered and sold for millions.
The only hitch was that the manager of the far-away Tahitian Resort wouldn’t let Chadwick get in the hotel pool until he’d removed all the red paint off his body.
