I’m here to talk about daylight saving or summertime or whatever you want to call it. You have to change your clocks tonight before you go to bed, or you could change them in the morning if you want to. It’s up to you when you change them although officially the time changes at three in the morning, or is that at one o’clock? Perhaps it changes at midnight for all I know. Whatever. It’s not worth staying up to change the clock at the official time. And if you change your clock at two o’clock it’s really three o’clock or one o’clock depending on which way you moved the hands. Now, do you change the clock forward or back? Fortunately we have a little mnemonic to help us remember which way to move the hands. Just remember spring back, fall forward. Or is that spring forward, fall back? Either way it can be very confusing, so I’m delighted to have been able to clear things up. Of course, the big thing is do the clocks go forward or back when we change them at this time of the year? It depends if you live in the northern hemisphere or the southern hemisphere. Goodness knows what they do at the equator. The water goes down the plughole the wrong way in the southern hemisphere, so just remember when you change your clock that it is the opposite to the other half of the world depending on where you live. Be aware when changing your clocks that time is of the essence, or should that be timing is everything? If you find yourself having a barbeque in the middle of a snow storm then it’s possible you moved your clock the wrong way. Personally, now that I’m retired, I don’t give a hoot what the time is.
