2962. Splashing about

… and Virginia had planned it so meticulously. Her step-sister, Claudine, was to drown in the swimming pool at the barbecue. Needless-to-say perhaps, they were a moderately dysfunctional family.

Virginia had fallen in love with Ramon, who was her step-brother and Claudine’s full-blooded brother. Ramon and Virginia wanted to get married. Virginia was dead against it. She did everything in her power to stop it. Ramon had volunteered to hold his sister Claudine under the water at the barbecue until she drowned. That should put a stop to any opposition to a possible wedding.

Everything was going according to plan. The sausages and zucchinis and bacon and steaks and mushrooms and everything under the sun were on the barbecue. The music was playing. The night lights around the pool cast a magnificent romantic ambiance over the scene. The pool was full of young people playfully splashing about.

Suddenly a scream was heard. It was Claudine. “Look!” she shouted. “Virginia’s drowned!” And indeed she had. In the night light under water one bikini looks much the same as another. Ramon had grabbed the wrong body.
