How exciting! The Antique Roadshow was coming to town. Expert assessors from various antique establishments were to assemble on the village green. People would bring along great grandpa’s doodles and it would instead be lost Rembrandt sketches. Myrtle brought along the little vase she used to keep her pens on her desk and discovered it was a highly valuable Ming vase. Anita brought along her invaluable Arabian sabre handed down since the mists of antiquity only to discover it was worthless.

Jocelyn had her great grandmother’s necklace. It was rumoured to be priceless. In fact they kept it in a safe and it had been used by Jocelyn just the once - at her wedding. It was diamonds and rubies set in silver. Or was it set in platinum?

Jocelyn put it in her handbag for safety. “Just think,” she thought, “I could have a million in my handbag!”

She joined the line and slowly moved up to the antique assessor. Jocelyn was starting to get nervous. She wouldn’t sell the necklace no matter what. Family tradition had said that it was given by the King of Spain for services rendered. They presumed she must have been the palace cook or something.

Jocelyn moved up closer. Her wait was getting shorter. She arrived!

“Good afternoon!” said the antique assessor. “What have we here?”

Jocelyn opened her purse. There was nothing there.
