2870. How do you spell that?

Moriah had always wished her parents had given her a name that people could spell. The most common misspelling of her name was M-A-R-I-A-H. They sounded almost the same but Moriah insisted that her name was Moriah and not Mariah.

Someone suggested that she change her name officially, but Moriah said that she would prefer it if other people learnt how to spell the name she had. When she lost a court case – which involved a lot of money because the cheque had been made out to Mariah and not to Moriah - then she knew it was time for an official change of name.

Now people would have to ask “How do you spell that?” if they were to write it down.

That’s why she became Fanomezantsoafankalazana.
