'If the inquirer purposes going to any of the distant gold-fields, we by all means advise him to journey by one of the conveyances... if he can command sufficient means to pay the passage money; he will save much time, physical fatigue, and annoyance... There are many, no doubt, who cannot profit by the accommodation thus offered, and who must walk to the gold-fields; and we advise them to proceed confidently on their journey, carefully avoiding familiarity with any one with whom they are not thoroughly acquainted... There are several lines of coaches to the diggings, but the Telegraph Line of Cobb and Co. is the most extensive and complete.'
