Pateley Bridge is a picturesque small town and is the capital of Nidderdale and perhaps one of the most interesting in the Yorkshire Dales. It is a popular holiday destination for those who wish to explore the industrial past of this part of North Yorkshire. The award winning Nidderdale Museum depicts life in days gone by in it's eleven rooms. Lead was mined in the area since Roman times and during the years of the Industrial Revoloution textiles became the main source of income. Pateley Bridge is famous for it's flowers during the spring and summer months and it's steep main street is adorned with many hanging baskets.
