Famous as the birthplace of Thomas Chippendale (the English cabinet maker), Otley is a pleasant town situated just downstream of Ilkley in lower Wharfedale at the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
Although lying within easy reach of the cities of Leeds and Bradford in nearby Bronte Country, Otley is conveniently located for touring the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales, with the little known Washburn Valley lying just to the north.
