Ince Blundell is a village to the north of Liverpool. A pub called the Weld Blundell is close by. The name Ince comes from a celtic word meaning island. This name bears evidence to Ince Blundell lying on a sandy ridge in the alt valley at a place that in the past had been marsh. Ince Blundell is probably the oldest settlement within the borough of Sefton.
