The town of Fleetwood is a port in north west England. It is on the Lancashire coast overlooking Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea. It is located at the north western tip of the Fylde peninsula, 7 miles north of Blackpool, at the mouth of the River Wyre.

Fleetwood is unusual in England in being a planned town. It was conceived by Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood (1801-1866), in the 1840s, as a port and resort.
