The Borough of Macclesfield is located in north east Cheshire. It covers over 200 square miles of predominantly rural land nestling in the foothills of the southern Pennines and is home to around 150,000 people.

The area contains several sizeable towns, each with its own individual characteristics. The majority of the population live in Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Knutsford and Poynton.
